September 18 GeorgiaAnna loved Georgia. Can't say I blame her either! Turns out that she thinks Georgia is actually my aunt and uncle's house, which was pretty dang cute. Every time we'd pull out of the driveway she'd say, "bye, bye Georgia!" She had lots of firsts there - first biscuit, first pear preserves, first fried chicken, got her first UGA t-shirt, saw the Atlantic, made her own picture book... it was a fantastic vacation.
Pictures to the right. June 27 Who's coming?Me: Anna, who's coming to see you tomorrow?
Anna: A bunny?!
Me: No.... but that would be fun. Who's coming to see you tomorrow?
Anna: A beautiful butterfly?!
Me: No.... but we can try to find a butterfly at the park. Who is coming to see you tomorrow?
Anna: Uncle Ross?
Me: Yes! That's right. Uncle Ross is coming to see you tomorrow.
Anna: Yaaaaaaaaay. Uncle Ross! Yaaaaaaay!
Then when he gets to our place she is scared to death of him. It takes her 3 hours to warm up enough to just sit next to him. :) June 19 Conversations with a 19-month oldCapturing some of Anna’s insights… because before we know it she’ll be stringing together entire sentences.
Mommy’s in the kitchen on the computer. Chili has soft. Chili has a brown. (~Chili is soft, Chili is brown) Chili has a little tail. Anna want cacker. Want say hi to Big Bird No tank you. The entire alphabet. Numbers 1 – 14 (skips 15, 16, 17) then 18-20. Crash, bang, wallop! (from one of her books) Sing, sing a song. Make simple, last day long (part of a Sesame St song) Oh, wow. Really big triangle! Mommy’s getting coffee. Hello tooooooad. Hello red pipe. Mommy sing blue birds fly. Happy birthday to you (the entire song!)
May 28 I'm a Little TeapotSure, I'm a biased mother, but this is one of the cutest things I have ever seen (or heard).
March 27 Hippity HopAnna got to experience an Easter egg hunt for the first time. After some prodding, I think she really got the whole concept down. Although, her Easter Bunny didn't leave candy - just raisins and animal crackers. Maybe that's why she was more entranced by the shredded paper that lined her basket? Hmm.
Some pictures from the weekend:
February 15 Ham & CheeseAnna is a total ham for the camera now that she squeels "cheese!" and smiles on cue. It makes her look so old. We can definitely see the little girl in the toddler now. And she's being a perfect little spaz along the way.
Here she is on Valentine's Day:
